“Samuel L. Clemens” joins the fleet at MPI Port St. Tammany: In early March MPI launched their new Suezmax manned model, the “Samuel L. Clemens”. The all-aluminum bulk carrier was built by Mr. Brett Thibodaux and his team of craftsmen at Blackfin Towers of Bush, Louisiana. The vessel will complete builder’s trials and join the manned model fleet for training use in April.

The Maritime Pilot’s Institute is a Louisiana-based non-profit maritime training school dedicated to providing training to US National and International maritime pilots, harbor pilots and river pilots. MPI primarily provides continuing education training services to US State Commissioned Ship Pilots and International Ship Pilots through use of our classrooms, full mission ship simulator, and MPI’s Port St. Tammany manned model training center.
